Tax-efficient by design

The decisions you make in week one shape your tax bill for years

Most people form a company through a £12 website, take whatever share structure the form defaults to, and only discover the consequences at their first year end. By then some of it is expensive to unpick.

We get the foundations right first time: how many shares and in whose names, whether a spouse should hold any, whether you should be VAT registered from the start, and how you draw money out once profits arrive. Then we revisit it every year, because the thresholds move.

How it works

From first call to fully compliant

  1. A free conversation

Fifteen minutes on the phone. What you're planning, what you expect to earn, whether a limited company genuinely beats staying a sole trader. If it doesn't, we'll say so.

  2. We form the company

Name checked, share structure agreed, incorporation filed, usually the same day. You get the certificate, and we brief you in plain English on what being a director actually means.

  3. Registrations and software

Corporation tax, VAT and PAYE registered as needed. Cloud bookkeeping set up and connected to your bank, so your records are right from the first transaction.

  4. We keep it compliant

Every deadline lands on our calendar, not yours. You get reminders of what to pay and when, an annual planning review, and a phone number that a human answers.

Always current

Compliant with the rules as they are today, not as they were

The rules keep moving. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax arrived in April 2026 and widens in 2027 and 2028. Companies House gained new identity verification and filing powers under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act. Employer National Insurance changed in April 2025. Corporation tax has had three rates since 2023.

Keeping up with that is our job, not yours. When something changes that affects your company, you hear it from us with an explanation of what, if anything, you need to do.

  • HMRC filings on time, every time. Late filing penalties are avoidable, and we treat them as unacceptable.
  • Companies Act duties met. Registers, PSC records and confirmation statements maintained as the Act requires.
  • MTD-ready from day one. Digital records in compatible software, so future thresholds are a non-event.
  • Reminders before deadlines. With the amount payable, so nothing is a surprise.
Questions

What new directors usually ask

How much does it cost?

One fixed monthly fee covering the formation and everything listed on this page. What it is depends on how complex your company is: whether you're VAT registered, how many people are on payroll, how much bookkeeping you want us to do. We quote it before you commit and it does not change without you agreeing. Ask us on the call and you'll get a number, not a range.

Should I be a limited company at all?

Not everyone should. A company brings limited liability and can be more tax efficient once profits are reasonable, but it also brings filing obligations, public records and costs a sole trader does not have. We'll run your actual numbers through both and tell you honestly which is better. If the answer is "stay a sole trader for now", that's what we'll say.

Do I have to register for VAT straight away?

Only once your taxable turnover passes £90,000 in any rolling 12-month period, or if you expect to pass it within the next 30 days. Registering voluntarily earlier often pays if your customers are VAT-registered businesses, because they reclaim what you charge and you reclaim VAT on your own costs. We'll work out which applies to you.

I formed my company already. Can you still take it on?

Yes, and it's common. We'll review what was set up, fix anything that needs fixing (wrong share structure and missed registrations are the usual two), catch up any late filings and put the company on the same monthly service from there.

What do you need from me each month?

Very little. With cloud bookkeeping connected to your bank, most of it flows in automatically. You'll get a short request when we need something specific, and a nudge if a receipt is missing. The aim is that your admin is minutes a month, not evenings.

Am I tied into a contract?

No long tie-in. If you ever want to leave, we hand your records over promptly and professionally to whoever takes over. We'd rather keep clients because they want to stay.
